A shoot with the Fratellis

Monday 7th April was club night at the studio I frequent, and it was there that I met two amazing guys, Joey Fratelli Altomonte and his brother Luigi Fratelli Altomonte.

Joey & Luigi-7746Those who know me that it’s rare that I shoot men.  I’m not sure why that is, it probably says more about me than anything else, but I have to say that this was one of the most enjoyable shoots I have had in ages.  It was obvious from the moment we met that these two are very close, they work together well and just bounce off each other.  There’s lots of trust there too, as evidenced by the very close proximity of neck and cut-throat razor on several occasions.  Getting a nick on the ear from those shears could have been nasty as well.

The shoot lent itself to monochrome with just a single studio head giving a tight pool of light.   Being a club night, time was limited as there were other photographers wanting to get shots, so we only had around 20 minutes or so to work out a set and adapt it as we went along.

You can see more from this set here.
